The Love of a Cat for Everyone!
The Love of a Cat for Everyone!
Siberian cats are fluffy hypoallergenic giants with a luxurious coat, robust health, and a super affectionate dog like personality.
They are best known for producing less allergens than other breeds allowing many allergy sufferers to enjoy the love of a hypoallergenic cat in their home.
They are gentle with children, agile, and fun loving.
Our Hypoallergenic cats are beloved family pets. They have sweet, loving personalities and will usually be found in the laps of one of our five kids. Our Siberian Cats have prestigious pedigrees and are tested free of genetic defects. TICA has designated our cattery a genetic testing pioneer.
Twelve years ago our children started begging for a kitten. We hated to break their hearts, but with Dad being severely allergic, we had to tell them a cat was not possible for our family.
About that time we started hearing about Siberian Cats, a hypoallergenic cat breed that many families with allergies seemed not only to tolerate but to thrive with. To the delight of our children, we adopted our first fluffy fur ball in 2009 and lost our hearts! We have had a Siberian ruling the roost and filling our hearts ever since.
We couldn't stop telling our friends and every allergic person we met about this hypoallergenic cat that changed our lives. It seemed the natural next step was to become a small home cattery and share our love of Siberian Cats with others. Purple Mountain Siberians is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Cats produce allergens in their saliva. This is deposited on their fur when they groom themselves. The strongest allergen is called Fel d 1. While no cat is completely hypoallergenic, Siberian Cats produce less of this allergen than other cat breeds. This has allowed most families with cat allergies to bring a Siberian Cat into their home.
The level of Fel d 1 varies from cat to cat. Even litter mates can be different. The best way to determine your compatibility is at the meet and snuggle day when you choose your kitten from the litter and bury your face in their fluffy coat.

When a litter is ready for adoption, we notify customers on our list and give them three days to decide if they would like a kitten from the litter.
The cost took our breath away the first time we looked into owning Siberian Cats. All we can say is that it is worth it! And with Siberian Cats often living 10-15 years your life will be filled with snuggles and joy for years to come
We love adoption! Our family has been a foster family for the humane society for many years. We have taken in puppies, kittens, dogs and cats and cared for them until they are ready to be adopted. Our family dogs are rescues. My husband, myself, and most of our children are even adopted!
However, the unique characteristics of Siberian Cats allow families with allergies to experience the love of a hypoallergenic cat who may otherwise never be able to have them. We want to make the love of a cat a possibility for everyone.
Our Siberian Cats have prestigious pedigrees and are tested free of genetic defects. TICA has designated our cattery a genetic testing pioneer. All of our Siberian kittens go to the vet for a comprehensive assessment at 8 weeks. The parents are certified free of Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). There is no history of HCM or PKD. Purple Mountain Siberians guarantees kittens for genetic defects for two years.
